Meghan Markle’s former director has shed a light on what the Duchess of Sussex was really like in a work environment.

Although Meghan, 43, has been named alongside her husband Prince Harry, 40, as an executive producer of the upcoming Netflix series Polo, the duchess is more used to life in front of the cameras, having had a successful acting career before marrying into the Royal Family in 2018.

While people who have worked with the duchess over recent years have made various allegations against her, with one branding her “Duchess Difficult”, a director who worked with Meghan on the US series Suits has contradicted these claims.

Hollywood veteran Tim Matheson, 76, shared his memories of directing Meghan Markle on the legal soap opera Suits in 2011.

In a recent interview with Fox Digital, the director described the duchess as being a professional on set according to GB news.

The director said: “I never had to worry about a scene she was going to be in. I knew that she’d bring a performance that was just right.

“She was just lovely. The entire cast was wonderful, but especially her, there was just something about her. There was a sparkle, a little sparkle in her eye.”

Although Meghan was thriving in her career, she gave this up to marry Prince Harry in 2018 and become a senior working member of the Royal Family.

This was until the couple both quit royal life in 2020, instead declaring they wanted to be financially independent and step away from some of the negative press intrusion.

Since then, the couple moved across the pond to Montecito in California, where they have continued to carry out charitable work under their own brand Archewell.

While she has not returned to acting, Meghan has been increasingly spotted at red carpet events and at lavish parties over recent months, with the duke sticking to charity work.

The positive comments about the duchess come after a number of accusations were made about Meghan in the workplace, which were included in a report by The Hollywood Reporter, with some former employees claiming she had reduced them to tears.

When the allegations were first reported, a spokesperson for the Sussexes denied them totally, saying: “Let’s just call this what it is – a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation. We are disappointed to see this defamatory portrayal of the Duchess of Sussex given credibility by a media outlet.”
