Meghan Markle’s ex-best friend to pen explosive tell-all book | Royal | News

Meghan Markle’s former friend, Jessica Mulroney, is reportedly set to release an explosive tell-all book, with insiders claiming details of the breakdown of her friendship with the Duchess of Sussex could feature. A publishing insider told the Mirror: “Jessica’s explosive story is the one publishers want to get their hands on. She could command up to a seven-figure dollar sum depending on what she is prepared to say.

“There’s huge interest in Jessica’s perspective and her time in the royal spotlight when friends with Meghan. People would rush to buy Jessica’s book to know what really happened between them. Hers is the real story royal watchers want to read and are asking for.”

The news of the upcoming book comes after the news that Jessica and her husband Ben Mulroney – who share twins Brian and John, 14, and their 12-year-old daughter Ivy – split “some time ago” – with Jessica reportedly telling friends at a wedding in Toronto in June.

On whether Meghan would be mentioned in Jessica’s book, the source added: “Jessica was let down and hurt by these false accusations swirling around her. She was really put through the mud in 2020 and has had an emotional time since then, watching from the sidelines while it all played out in the media with false reports about her, and unable to say anything.”

“This could be her chance to set the record straight about a lot of things that she was accused of, after being cancelled,” says the insider.

They continued: “She has the receipts. No one had a voice for her and helped her to get the truth out at the time, so writing a book would be the chance to reclaim her power and counteract the false stories, like the one about the treatment of Princess Charlotte during the bridesmaid’s dress fitting in 2018 for Meghan’s wedding to Harry.

“If she goes ahead with a book deal, Jessica would finally be able to explain what really took place at that time and correct all the false narratives that have been spun around her.”

During their friendship, Jessica was one of the only people who knew about her relationship with Harry in the early days – and also acted as Meghan’s stylist during her engagement photoshoot in November 2017.

However, Meghan, 43, reportedly dumped Jessica as a friend after being caught up in a racism scandal that left the 45-year-old “toxic” on the Toronto social scene. This came after Canadian influencer Sasha Exeter accused Jessica of racism back in 2020.

Jessica appeared to refer to Meghan during a public apology, telling Exeter, “As I told you privately, I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and centre.

“It was deeply educational. I learned a lot from that. I promise to continue to learn and listen on how I can use my privilege to elevate and support black voices.”
