“But since they left, I would say from the start the judgement was poor. You might remember how they left the Royal Family.

“They chose to put out a statement themselves. It was very provocative and then they had their website Sussex Royal where they kind of issued – it was almost sort of an announcement like they were dictating to the Royal Family. And that set everything off on the wrong foot.”

Eden then pointed to the timing of American Riviera Orchard’s Instagram launch, saying it seemed “not completely thought through.”

He said: “Sometimes you want to encourage people to talk about a company maybe a few weeks before it launched or something, but just to do it months ahead makes it sound like there was no plan.”

He added: “She chose to launch an Instagram page and there’s still no sign of any products being sold or anything.”

Vanity Fair’s former editor Tina Brown echoed Eden’s comments, describing the Sussexes’ exit from royal life as a “disaster.” According to Brown, Markle has “the worst judgement of anyone in the entire world”.

However, despite all the criticism and negativity, fans of Meghan are eagerly awaiting the official launch of American Riviera Orchard.

According to sources close to Meghan, the delays Eden mentioned may also be beyond her control, as the company is currently handling a series of procedural delays.

The US Patents and Trademarks Office reportedly issued Notices of Irregularities for the brand’s trademark applications, which must be corrected before a full launch.

Insiders told MailOnline that these requests are routine due to differences in product classifications between the US and UK, adding that any associated fees have been addressed.

American Riviera Orchard is expected to offer an extensive product range from skincare items like body lotions and bath oils to home and garden supplies, pet grooming products, stationery and more.

All products are said to be “close to Meghan’s heart,” with a full-scale launch anticipated next year.
