Meghan Markle warned as Archie and Lilibet 'deprived' of major part of childhood

Meghan Markle has been warned over “depriving” Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet of a major part of their childhood.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have experienced fractured relationships with members of the Royal Family for some time, with their two children also dealing with the fallout too.

Archie, four, and Lilibet, two, have spent very little time with their royal relatives – including their paternal grandfather, King Charles. Meghan and Harry currently live with their children in Montecito, California – more than 5,000 miles away from the UK.

Royal commentator Lydia Alty has now branded the Duchess of Sussex as “not fair” for “depriving” Archie and Lilibet of their royal ties, as they have also grown up so far not spending any time with their cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Ms Alty told OK!,: “Her children, Archie and Lilibet, need to see their grandfather. It’s not fair just to whisk them away to California and deprive them of contact with their grandfather.”

Speaking of Meghan, she added: “When Meghan moved to the US and took Prince Harry and her children with her, I personally didn’t think she was happy once she left or about the idea she would want to return to the UK.

“She didn’t like the Royal Family, so left the institution to start a new life in California.

“I think in this current state of affairs with regards to King Charles’ recent diagnosis, she should put the past behind her and let her family see the King.”

She claims that, despite tensions between the adults, King Charles would undoubtedly “love to see his grandchildren”.

Ms Alty continued: “Of course, we don’t know the full story, she might want to see her family in the UK, and might be sceptical for her families safety, but if she’s not happy, she should let them come back to the UK and see him because King Charles would love to see his grandchildren – especially during this time.”

Although Harry and Meghan are keen to keep their children away from the spotlight, both have previously spoken about them publicly.

During one interview with Variety, Meghan shared that she and Harry keen to raise their two children to be “multidimensional, interesting, kind, creative people”.

She added that, when the time comes, they will support them if they ever decided to become actors – just like her former self. Meghan also said that she would be happy for them to follow in her footsteps – especially if it bought them “joy”.

During a recent interview for Good Morning America, Harry said that Archie and Lilibet are doing “great” and “growing up very, very fast”.
