Meghan Markle ‘unlikely to join Harry in UK’, damning statistics show | Royal | News

Meghan Markle is unlikely to join Prince Harry on his visit to the UK next week, with the odds suggesting she will stay at home in Montecito instead. The Duke of Sussex, 40, will be back in his home country on Monday to attend the 2025 Wellchild Awards – a charity he is patron of.

However, while the prince may be busy packing his suitcase this weekend ahead of the UK visit, it is not believed that his wife will be doing the same. This is because according to Pundit Arena, there is just a 16.7% chance the Duchess, 44, will accompany her husband on the trip.

Instead, it is believed she will stay at the family home in Montecito with the couple’s two children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

Although it looks unlikely that Meghan will return to the UK this time, Pundit Arena think the duchess could return to Britain at some stage, with 2026 being the most likely year at odds of 10/11.

Joe Lyons, spokesperson for Pundit Arena, said: “Royal watchers will be glued to Prince Harry’s UK visit next week, but the odds suggest there a low chance his wife Meghan Markle will join him on the trip; we estimate a 16.7% chance that she’ll make the journey.

“A return to the UK in general for the first time since 2022 still appears to be some way off, with 2026 currently seen as the most likely window, priced at 10/11.”

The Duchess of Sussex has not returned to the UK since September 2022 when she attended the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth.

While Prince Harry, 40, has returned to his home country multiple times since then, his wife and children have not joined him.

It is believed one of the reasons for this is as a result of safety fears, with Harry having spoken multiple times about how he feels that the UK is unsafe for his family.

After losing a court appeal case to try and increase the UK taxpayer-funded security he is entitled to this year, after it was downgraded when he quit royal life in 2020, Harry told the BBC: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
