Meghan Markle torn apart on GB News over ‘chilling’ move | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Meghan Markle’s latest business move has sparked outrage during a fiery GB News segment, with host Ben Leo and his guest branding it “chilling”. Discussing the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming rosé launch, the guest revealed it’s dropping Tuesday (July 1) — a date that “just so happens” to coincide with what would have been Princess Diana’s 64th birthday. “If you’re not a fan of Meghan Markle, you might want to bury your head under a pillow for a week,” she warned, calling the launch timing “no coincidence”.

As Ben dramatically hid under a piece of paper, the guest continued: “This is the day she’s chosen to launch her Rose. Nothing’s ever really a coincidence with Meghan. And already there’s a little bit of controversy because, we all know how Diana died, there was a drunk driver behind the wheel in Paris. Now she’s releasing an alcohol brand on Diana’s 64th birthday. So that’s incredible to me. It feels like it’s bad taste.”

The GB News presenter didn’t hold back either, suggesting there is a pattern of strategic timing behind the As Ever brand release: “You’ll get a nice picture of the Waleses — William, Kate, the kids — and hours later, boom, Meghan releases her own.

“It’s happened too many times. It’s not a coincidence. This… it’s a bit chilling and a bit weird.”

The guest suggested: “No, I don’t think it’s coincidence. Meghan thinks through everything. She gets up at 5am she hits those emails. She thinks through every scenario. She’s strategic, although you wouldn’t know she’s strategic, because there have been a few sort of mishaps along the way.”

The commentator claimed: “The rose is really important to her because it’s got a high profit margin.

“She’s seen people like George Clooney and Brad Pitt make hundreds of millions of dollars from their alcohol brands, and she’s hoping to make a lot of money.

“And unlike the jams, the rose a can be made. I think it’s 90 bottles every minute.”

The guest also poked fun at the Duchess’s sold-out jam, suggesting: “Nobody really knows why they sell out. Is it because she made 100? Maybe she’s buying them all. Is she calling her mum and getting her mum to buy them on mass?”

“She has this real shot to make a fortune,” she said. “And they need money because their lifestyle is so incredibly expensive.”

This latest backlash comes after it was revealed Meghan’ss £6.50 jam — originally shown bubbling away in a pot on Instagram as daughter Lilibet’s voice says “beautiful” — is actually made by a major US factory.

The company, named The Republic of Tea, is located in Larkspur, which is 350 miles away from Meghan and Prince Harry’s Montecito mansion. Despite the firm being in California, the factory is located in Illinois, which is more than 2,000 miles away from Montecito.
