Meghan Markle is allegedly “reparenting” Prince Harry in the US as the couple are said to be “deeply in love” while navigating their new life away from the Royal Family, it has been reported.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved across the pond in 2020 after they stepped down as senior working royals.
Harry and Meghan relocated to Montecito, California, where they’ve now settled with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
And now sources close to them have given a rare insight into their life in California, revealing what they are like and how they act around others.
They said: “She [Meghan] was up-front about the fact that Harry hadn’t made many friends yet.”
Another person who worked with them added: “I think Harry doesn’t know what he wants because he grew up in a fishbowl, and so he doesn’t know what real life really is.
“I think he probably wants to be left alone and be able to go kiss babies every once in a while but not have to worry about money. I don’t think he wants to be famous the way Meghan wants to be famous.”
Meanwhile, the outlet reported that all their sources who worked with them said the Sussex couple are “deeply in love”, with one explaining: “They are so hot for each other.
“Like, you know how you meet those couples where you’re like, the way they’re looking at each other, I should probably not be here right now?”
Another insider alleged that when the duke is without his wife “he’s very personable, he’s very at ease with people, quite like Diana… he just has this way of, like, making people feel very comfortable.”
They added that when he’s with Meghan he gets “protective” of her because “people are so nasty to her”.
But they said that the duchess holds the role of the “caregiver” and “facilitator” who makes “everything so easy” for the duke.
They said: “I can picture him meeting Meghan and being just a deep breath of, like, ‘I’ve been so exhausted, and you make everything so easy.’… I don’t want to be like, oh, it’s an Oedipus thing or whatever, but it kind of feels like she’s reparenting him in a way.”
Harry previously spoke about Meghan’s treatment by the press, drawing parallels between her and his late mother, Princess Diana, in a 2019 statement.
The prince wrote: “My deepest fear is history repeating itself. I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”
