A brand expert has spotted a major clue in Meghan Markle’s new Netflix trailer which suggests Meghan is finally putting the royal feud behind her, following her decision to quit life as a senior working royal in 2020.
Tensions have remained high between the Firm and Meghan, ever since The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, 2021. Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare, also heightened tensions as he depicted his version of royal life within the Palace walls.
According to a brand expert, Meghan is attempting to “be like Adele and Oprah” and opting to leave out her royal title in her latest trailer for ‘With Love, Meghan’.
Nike Ede told The Sun about how the Duchess hopes to be recognised by only her first name. Defining herself in the lifestyle space “rather than as an ex-member of the Royal Family” could be a “very positive step” for a turn in the right direction for the New Year.
Nick continued: “It’ll be a brilliant way to build her brand identity and she could become the new Martha Stewart with the heavyweight of Netflix behind her.
“It’s going to reveal to the world what Meghan loves, it shows that Meghan had a passion for food and cooking.”
He also describes Meghan as a “foodie”, explaining how this is the perfect way for her to build her other brand, American Riviera Orcahrd, which she soft-launched last March.
The nearly two-minute-long video uploaded to Meghan’s Instagram page and Netflix social media, provided a montage of Meghan cooking, arranging flowers, walking through vegetable patches, and even beekeeping for her Netflix show.
Meghan shared: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it. Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them..”
Confirmed guests include chef Roy Choi, actress Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, with additional acclaimed chefs and special friends. Fellow Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer, known for her role as Dana Scott also makes an appearance.
Fans were previously in the dark as to what elements the eight-part series would contain, but the trailer has shown a detailed insight into what is to be expected, and it is due for launch on the streaming platform on January 15.
Meghan captioned her post: “I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support – and fun!”
On YouTube, Netflix captions the trailer: “This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old.
“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”
The Duches of Sussex now has 1.2million followers [at the time of writing] on her new Instagram page and first posted content on January 1, 2025.
