Meghan Markle has appeared in her first ever podcast interview on the The Jamie Kern Lima Show Podcast. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, cries in the podcast as she speaks about “proving herself”.
While Meghan has her own podcast series Confessions of A Female Founder, this is the first time the duchess has ever appeared on somebody else’s podcast as an interviewee. The duchess addresses a number of topics in the episode, talking about her life in Montecito, her husband Prince Harry and her two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three. Meghan also speaks about how she is doing at this moment in time, announcing she is “better than okay”.
In the podcast, the duchess also said she is “done” with having to prove herself. She said: “We spend so much of ou lives trying to prove something, to prove that you’re enough, you have to prove that you’re pretty enough, you have to prove you’re smart enough, you have to prove that you’re a good wife or a good friend.
“And I was like ‘I am just so done with the proving game and if you can’t see it, I don’t need to prove to you why that’s your loss.
“I know that I’m a great friend, and I know the kind of mum I am, and I know the kind of human being I am, and I know how I show up. And I love being able to be that person with the people that I love.”
Meghan, 43, also gushed about her husband Prince Harry on the show.
Talking about Prince Harry, Meghan said: “Oh he’s such a great partner. I feel that, I feel that everyday in how supportive he’s been and is. H, that man loves me so much and look what we built. We’ve built a beautiful live and we have two healthy beautiful children.
“He’s just going to do whatever he can to make his family is safe and protected and uplifted and still make time for date nights.”
