Meghan Markle gushes over Prince Harry as she rushes to take pictures 'to show the kids'

Meghan Markle was full of pride as she took a picture of Prince Harry about to glide down the ski slopes of Whistler in Canada as they prepare for the next Invictus Games.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to Vancouver this week to mark the one-year countdown until the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, which will feature winter sports for the first time.

The trip is likely to have been extra special for the couple, as they lived close to Vancouver for some months after they stepped down as working royals in 2020.

During their visit on Valentine’s Day they joined the athletes to check out the new sports, including skiing, with Harry trying out some adaptive skiis.

In a video shared on social media Meghan is seen borrowing a phone from a friend so she could take a photo of him, saying she wanted to “show the kids” Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The video was captioned by a fan: “Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, borrowed a friend’s phone to take a snap of husband Prince Harry as he prepared to take a turn sit skiing – revealing she wanted to ‘show the kids’.”

Sussex fans were delighted by the exchange, with one posting: “Awww Prince Archie and Princess Lili will see their daddy learning this new sport.”

Another said: “The Duchess of Sussex looks beautiful and The Duke is doing a good job with the Games”, while a third fan commented: “She looks bloody fantastic!!! wow.”

The couple appeared defiant after facing backlash for the launch of their new website sussex.com, bringing together their previous work on Archewell and Sussex Royal.

When they stepped down as working royals in 2020 Harry and Meghan were told they could no longer use Sussex Royal, nor could they use their titles in conjunction with any commercial venture.

However the new site has led some to suggest they are still trading off their royal connections, with a source telling the Daily Mail: “They are going to have real trouble with the use of Sussex. It is a royal title and if there is any hint of commercialism about this it will be shut down. It’s just staggering they cannot see how gauche it is.”

Their royal crest also feature prominently on the website, however Meghan hit back at the controversy by publicly defending the design.

She wrote a comment on Article.com, the digital agency she used for the designs of her sites The Tig and Archewell, which has now turned its attention to the Sussex rebrand.

Meghan said: “There is a reason I have worked with Ryan and the talented team at Article for a decade: their attention to detail, their creativity and care, and the thoughtful approach to design as well as to the user experience.

“They’re not just designers; they are collaborators who elevate your ideas into visual identities. They’re a very special company. Plus they’re Canadian, so I’m a fan.”
