While Meghan Markle may have flown home from Canada early this week without her husband Prince Harry, it appears she didn’t arrive back to her Montecito mansion empty-handed.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, had originally flown to Canada on February 8 to support her husband as he attended the Invictus Games competition – an event he originally founded in 2014 for ex servicemen and women – however flew back to California without him just days later.

It is believed the decision was made by the couple so that Meghan could return and look after their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, at their Montecito mansion – a place they have called home since quitting royal life in the UK in 2020.

While Harry did not join the duchess in her return home on Tuesday, it seems that Meghan was accompanied on the private jet by a number of gifts she had been given for their children throughout the competition.

Among those were the model Transformers toys of Megatron and Optimus Prime, a gift from Invictus Games athlete Michael Harrold.

As reported by Hello!, Michael said he gave Harry and Meghan the gift during a breakfast meeting with the couple.

He told Hello: “I asked him what his best dad joke was, and then I gave him Optimus Prime, and Megatron, two toys from my son to his son.”

As well as these toys, Meghan shared a snapshot of other gifts she had been given for Archie and Lilibet from competitors at The Invictus Games.

This included personalised custom jerseys from Team Nigeria, with Harry and Meghan also receiving their own to wear.

Talking about the jerseys, Nigerian team manager Derrick Cobbinah told PEOPLE: “We did one for him and one for M and for the kids.

“They said they would be excited to have them. She was very, very excited.”

Although Archie and Lilibet did not fly to Canada with the couple, Meghan and Harry both mentioned their two children throughout the competition.

The duchess described them as “sweet” and “excited” as she told crowds that they would be cheering Harry on from California.
