Meghan Markle faces backlash from Kate fans if she isn't 'sensitive' about brand launch

Following Princess Kate’s recent cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment, which unfolded in an emotional video released by the royal, Meghan Markle has been warned to be careful about moving forward with her new brand launch, claims a PR expert.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, unveiled the logo of her new business venture last month, titled ‘American Riviera Orchard’. It is the name of her new lifestyle brand which will likely hard launch soon with a website and online store rumoured to sell home decor items and edible goods.

However, a PR expert has warned Meghan should be “sensitive” about the launch amid her sister-in-law’s health woes as she undergoes “preventative chemotherapy”.

Speaking to The Mirror, public relations expert, Lynn Carratt said: “As Meghan is no longer part of the Monarchy, she is free to launch her brand whenever she likes.”

She added words of wisdom: “However, given Kate’s ongoing cancer treatments, it would be wise for Meghan to be sensitive to the timing of her brand launch, considering the public support for Kate worldwide.”

Issuing advice about the best time to officially launch her brand, Ms Carratt explained Meghan Markle, 42, should “work quietly” on her brand “behind the scenes” until we have received good news about the King and Princess’s health.

The former royal launched her brand on March 14, the same day Prince Harry, her husband, virtually attended the Diana Legacy Award ceremony instead of being there in person, which could have led to an uncomfortable encounter with his brother, Prince William.

Her official @americanrivieraorchard page has been verified by Meta with a celebrity-style blue tick, allowing Meghan to use her large following to promote her new product line and campaigns. Meghan’s Instagram appears to be similar to her old blog, The Tig, which she stopped writing in 2017 when she was preparing to marry Prince Harry.

There is also a website for the business, americanriviera.com. Visitors to the site can join a waiting list, but not much more information is provided just yet. Despite the lack of information, the account has gained traction with many celebrity followers, including TV reality star, Kris Jenner following the Instagram account.

The Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis last month in a pre-recorded video clip that was broadcast around the world. The shock announcement came after weeks of speculation concerning the Princess and her whereabouts after she underwent abdominal surgery at a private hospital, The London Clinic.

Kate can be seen visibly emotional in the video, with her voice cracking up as she explained how the news came as a huge shock. It won the praise of King Charles who said in a statement via Buckingham Palace he is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did.”

Despite the shocking news, the future queen appeared to spread a message of positivity as she added “I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.”

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement at the time of their sister-in-law’s announcement. The couple said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”
