Meghan Markle 'disappointed' she didn't bag Dior deal and is 'desperate for endorsement'

Meghan Markle is “disappointed she hasn’t landed a contract” with high-end fashion brand Dior and is “desperate for an endorsement” with a fashion house, a royal author has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex was rumoured to be “in talks” with the luxury French company about a possible deal. But in November, it was reported that Meghan “lost out” to Meg Bellamy, who plays Princess Kate in season six of Netflix’s The Crown.

The 21-year-old was revealed to be the new face of Dior. But, according to the fashion house, Meghan was “not in talks” to sign a deal.

A source previously told the Telegraph: “There is no truth to the claims that she will partner with the French fashion house.” An insider even said that the team was “nonplussed as to how the story came about.”

Now royal author Tom Bower claimed Prince Harry’s wife is set on a fashion deal. He told Closer: “Meghan has made huge efforts. She does look amazingly good at the moment – and is clearly working hard at it.

“I think she’s looking desperately for an endorsement with something like Dior and that’s been a disappointment because she hasn’t landed one contract.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have vowed to become financially independent after they quit royal duties and moved to the US in 2020.

Since their royal departure, the couple have landed a series of lucrative deals, including one with Netflix, rumoured to be worth as much as £78million and another one with Spotify, reportedly worth a whopping £16.5 million, which ended earlier this year.

On top of that, Harry is said to have inherited £7.8million from his mother, Princess Diana, while he also reportedly “scored £16m advance” from the release of his memoir, Spare.
