Meghan Markle may have taken style inspiration from Kate, the Princess of Wales, as she rocked a heritage grey blazer while sitting on the front row to watch the wheelchair basketball at the Invictus Games.

Meghan’s new number was the ‘Duccio Jacket’ by Dôen, which cost an eye-watering £748 and the timeless design features contrasting black lapels and four buttons on each sleeve.

The designer notes the jacket is inspired by “the sharp suiting styles of the ‘70s, rendered in 100% wool English tweed and fully lined in viscose twill” and is double-breasted.

It also features a welt pocket at the breast and flap pockets at the waist, with faux-leather buttons down the front.

This particular style, however, has previously been seen on another royal – the Princess of Wales in 2018.

On a royal engagement in Essex in 2018, Kate wore a similar blazer costing £625 from Smythe and she teamed it with an all-black ensemble – jeans and a polo neck jumper, as well as ankle boots.

To finish the look, Kate paired her all-black outfit with Russell & Bromley Aquatalia ‘Fallon’ Chelsea boots, £295.

Kate also accessorised with a pair of Kiki classic white topaz and diamond cushion drop earrings (£1,400).

She wore her hair in her trademark glossy blowdry and stuck to her trademark beauty look of lightly smokey eyes and natural-toned lips.

Kate also wore the jacket to a sporting event, in Basildon, Essex, in order to learn about the sports activities taking place in the community.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently in Canada where the 2025 Invictus Games are underway, with the couple making multiple appearances at various games in Vancouver.

Meghan, 43, has already shown off a series of stylish outfits that comprised old and new pieces from her wardrobe. Meghan’s first outfit for this year’s edition of the Invictus Games was a £678 ‘Willow’ Pleated Midi Dress in ‘Chocolate’ from A.L.C. for the Family and Friends Welcome Reception on Friday.

The morning after, Meghan opted for an all-cream ensemble when greeting athletes at the True Patriot Love Foundation breakfast, complete with a £255 Danica Wool-Cashmere Turtleneck Vest in ‘Ivory’ from Rag & Bone and matching pleated trousers.

This year’s games, aims to celebrate service men and women who put their lives on the line for their nations, will include winter sports for the first time ever.

Harry and Meghan flew in on a private charter jet from Santa Barbara airport near their home in Montecito, California, arriving just after 5:30pm on Friday, February 7 ahead of the games, which will run until February 16.
