Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are devastated by King Charles's snub but won't complain

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly feeling “left out” of King Charles’s plans for the future of the monarchy. The pair, who left Royal duties four years ago to start a new life in Montecito, California, may be considering a return to the UK following the King’s cancer diagnosis.

The King’s illness has reportedly prompted discussions about the future of the monarchy, including the unlikely scenario of Harry and Meghan resuming their Royal roles. Royal expert Jennie Bond believes that Harry would be prepared to “uproot his family” if needed.

In an interview with Heat magazine, Ms Bond described the planning for Harry and Meghan’s potential return to Royal duties as an “extreme precaution”.

However, she added: “But, from the rumours that he was willing to step in on some kind of official basis while the King is in treatment, Harry probably would uproot his family and fill in for the short-term.”

“I don’t think regency is something he’d welcome, but he’d be able to do things his way for once.”

Ms Bond noted that any role Harry might take on would only be temporary, as Prince William’s son George would be eligible to become King when he turns 18 in seven years.

A source has revealed to Heat that Harry and Meghan are finding it “hard” to hear that King Charles is making plans for the future without their input. Despite this, they assured that the Sussexes won’t “kick up a fuss”..

These remarks follow those made by Royal author Tom Quinn, who suggested that Charles’ plans are focused on the Prince of Wales. He told The Mirror that “William is at the heart of the succession planning”, but “no one trusts Harry”.

He added: “Succession planning is highly secret and no one trusts Harry to be part of it for the simple reason that if he feels in any way slighted or not given what he feels he deserves he will run straight to the media.”
