Meghan Markle has been told to “stop trying to be a princess” as she’s urged to ditch the ‘Duchess’ title. The 43-year-old, who stepped down from royal duties in 2020, now resides in California with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
Having been five years since she stepped away from royal life, Meghan has now been urged to move on with her life. Taking to her column for The Sun, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond wrote: “You are an independent woman with a husband who adores you.
“Just because he’s a prince doesn’t mean you have to hang on to the idea of being a princess.”
She then told Meghan: “You tried being part of the Royal Family and hated it. Time to move on, which, I think, is what this is all about.”
Jennie’s comments come just days after Meghan showed herself, according to the expert, to be a “shrewd operator” by releasing a video of herself dancing in a hospital room. The video was taken shortly before the birth of Lilibet in June 2021.
As well as a sweet birthday tribute to her daughter, whom Meghan described as her “beautiful girl”, the former working royal also revealed that the family has celebrated her birthday with a trip to Disneyland.
Meghan’s birthday post on June 4, read: “Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives – and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!”
The video posted to @meghan on Instagram featured clips of the family meeting Disney princesses, riding on rollercoasters and eating delicious Disney-inspired treats.
