Meghan and Harry 'counting down the days' until they return to country close to hearts

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are eagerly awaiting their return to Canada, saying they’re “counting down the days”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently flew from Montecito in California to Vancouver in Canada.

They were there to celebrate the ‘One Year To Go’ event for the 2025 Invictus Games, which will take place in Whistler from February 6 until 17, 2025.

The Games will see over 500 competitors from 20 countries participating in adaptive sports.

These include new winter sports like Alpine Skiing, Nordic Skiing, Skeleton, and Wheelchair Curling, as well as the core Invictus Games sports. After their visit to Canada for the celebrations, the Duke and Duchess have shared their thoughts.

They felt the Invictus spirit and excitement throughout their visit and can’t wait to return.

The couple expressed their thanks, saying “We’re so grateful to all our hosts for organising such a memorable visit,” and excitedly shared: “We’re counting down the days until we return.”

During their trip, they were seen a lot by the public. Harry even had a big talk on Good Morning America, which doesn’t happen often.

Harry talked to reporter Will Reeve about his dad’s sickness and dropped hints about maybe going back to the UK this year to see his family again.

He explained: “Look I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him I’m grateful for that.”

Harry then spoke about possibly going back to his birthplace, the United Kingdom, soon.

He told Will: “So my family and my life in California is as it is. I have got other trips planned. That would take me through the UK or back to the UK, so you know, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”
