Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been blasted as “irresponsible” after fans spotted a “dangerous” detail in a new picture of Princess Lilibet. Taking to Instagram to mark International Women’s Day on March 8, Meghan shared a sweet collection of pictures, including one of Harry and their daughter on a boat.
The three-year-old is pictured sat on Harry’s lap, with the proud dad sweetly kissing his daughter on her head. However, fans were quick to spot one “dangerous” detail in the seemingly heartfelt picture – Lilibet is not wearing a lifejacket.
Critics took to X, which was formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.
Some users branded Harry and Meghan’s parenting as “irresponsible”, while others pointed out that it is actually against the law.
California, where the couple resides with their two children, requires that every child under the age of 13 must wear a life jacket at all times while on a moving vessel of any length.
In a post that has since gone viral, one fan commented: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are so good at showing the world how much they suck at being parents.”
Another shared, “Their priorities seem to be anywhere but on actual parenting.”
Another wrote: “How irresponsible. Even pet owners put life vests on their pets when riding in boats.”
Also noting that Lilibet should be wearing a lifejacket, another wrote: ‘She [Lilibet] should ABSOLUTELY have a life vest on.”
The caption of Meghan’s latest post – which also shared a sweet picture with her mum, Doria Ragland – read: “Celebrating the strong women around us and the girls with dreams who will become women with vision. Also thanking those who uplift us every day.”
