It came from outer space!

The massive 11-foot piece of space junk was discovered just outside Scott Township around 3:30 p.m., while a local farmer was out harvesting corn, the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office said.

In the farmers’ estimation, the cosmic debris sat in the field for at least six weeks before being discovered, based on the size of the corn that was growing from underneath it, KGW8 reported.

It’s unclear exactly where the object came from — or who its owner is.

Local authorities identified the oversized object as “presumably a space object,” according to the local outlet, complete with serial numbers that could potentially lead investigators to its owner.

Federal and state agents are currently working together to find the metallic heap’s owner and pull it out of the cornfield, according to police.

Officials said that the hunk of metal poses no danger to the public.
