It looks like the rumours are true, and Marvel Rivals is indeed coming to PS4 in the near future.
A new Marvel Rivals trailer has shed some light on the imminent release of Season 4, which is launching on September 12.
However, when you skip to the end of the trailer (below), you’ll see that Marvel Rivals is listed for Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games, PS5 and PS4.
This suggests that the game is about to make its debut on PlayStation 4, potentially when Season 4 launches on September 12.
This opens the game up to tens of millions of additional players, something that should make the next few weeks of play extremely exciting.
Unfortunately, however, it’s not all good news, because there’s still no sign of a Nintendo Switch launch (or Switch 2 for that matter).
Fans have picked up on this fact on X, asking why the game hasn’t been announced for Switch 2.
Some fans even point out that the Switch 2 version could take advantage of the console’s mouse controls.
Perhaps developer NetEase will announce a Switch 2 release for Marvel Rivals during next week’s rumoured Nintendo Direct conference.
As for Season 4, the next big Marvel Rivals content drop is titled Heart of the Dragon.
The next season will introduce the new characters of Daredevil and Angela to the popular multiplayer game.
NetEase explains more: “The Timestream Entanglement has drawn the Seven Capitals together, forming the Heart of Heaven. After Knull’s fall, Hela is imprisoned in the An’Hay-Zhidi, where Dizang—Devil of the Eighth City—dares her to atone for her sins.
“But Angela will not forgive her betrayal. She arrives in the Heart of Heaven demanding Hela be handed over, yet its guardian refuses to surrender someone under his protection. Justice will be served and a debt will be paid.
“But while they fight, an even greater danger stirs. Doctor Doom seeks to steal the Chronal Chi of the slumbering dragon Shou-Lao, threatening to unravel the fate of the Heavens themselves.”
