It is feared the man behind a suspected terror incident in Manchester was trying to make his way into a Jewish school with bombs strapped to his body when he was shot dead.
Four people were injured when a car was driven at members of the public and a man was stabbed outside a synagogue in Middleton Road, Crumpsall, today.
As armed police surrounded the man, footage showed a member of the public shouting out that “he’s got bombs on him – he’s trying to press the button” seconds before he was shot by police.
Video footage from the scene shows a man lying on the floor outside the synagogue. As he attempts to climb up a member of the public shouts that he has “got bombs on him” and warns that he is “trying to press a button” before gunfire rings out and the man collapses back to the ground.
A bomb disposal unit was also seen arriving at the scene.
