Manchester United have reportedly informed approximately 200 members of staff that they are in danger of losing their jobs in the latest rounds of cuts. Senior leaders and management are also said to be at risk, in addition to the 450 people who have lost their jobs since Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS took charge of day-to-day operations.
Those inside the club are fearful that such cuts are “in danger of tearing the heart and soul out of the club”, despite the British billionaire warning that United could have gone bust by Christmas before action was taken.
The Daily Mail claim that in the past 48 hours, among those informed about their job security are an employee who has spent decades at Old Trafford and a well-respected figure across the entire footballing industry.
