Man finds out he’s inheriting millionaire’s fortune after detective’s discovery in road | World | News

A man who was deserted by his father before he was born is set to inherit a millionaire’s fortune, thanks to a discovery in the street.

The 35-year-old’s claim to the businessman’s wealth was ultimately confirmed by his grandfather’s saliva, following an investigation involving the meticulous work of private detectives.

Regrettably, the man’s father never acknowledged him as his son and passed away at the age of 65 in 2011. His father, usually residing in Mexico, had a brief relationship with his mother after meeting her during a holiday in Spain.

However, once his mother became pregnant, his father allegedly severed all contact with her and returned to Mexico. According to Fernando Osuna, the man’s solicitor, she “never heard from him again”.

He noted that she later opted to be a single mother after facing rejection from her fiancé’s family. He also claimed her decision was based on an indication by the family that they would take the boy to Mexico if a paternity test proved that the child was his biological son.

Fast forward to when the boy was older, he decided to hire Fernando not only to assist in his inheritance efforts but also to claim his surname.

He engaged a private detective agency to aid him in his quest, which led them to the person believed to be his paternal grandfather.

Astonishingly, the relative’s saliva was collected by a detective when he spat in the street, according to reports from Le Soir.

Detective Juan Pantín Bouza, a manager at Detectives InfoX who collected the sample, revealed to Confilegal: “I established a series of controls to try to obtain organic evidence. It took several days of surveillance until I found the right moment.”

He further explained: “One of these days, the man (the client’s grandfather) started coughing, and some phlegm fell on the street. I began the protocol, using gloves, swabs, etc., to collect it. I labelled the evidence, sealed it, and sent it to a testing centre, which issued the report.”

After packaging the sample, it was dispatched to a laboratory for DNA analysis, which confirmed a familial link. A judge subsequently summoned the grandfather to repeat the DNA test in court, but he declined.

In the climax of the ensuing legal tussle, which was recently resolved, the judge, guided by a decision from the Spanish Supreme Court, declared that the man was the rightful heir and ordered the grandfather to cover the legal costs.

Speaking to Confilegal, Fernando highlighted in this extraordinary case, there had been “quite a bit” of evidence. He pointed out the combination of witnesses, a “plausible” story and finally, a “physical resemblance” between the man and his father.
