A police officer has been left wounded and an alleged shooter dead after a gunfight erupted between police and a suspect Monday night.
The Pasadena Police Department responded to a gunshot victim around 7:30 p.m. near the Metro Homestead Station at Electronic Drive and Sierra Madre Villa Avenue, a watch commander told The Post.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man had been shot in the shoulder and obtained a description of the alleged shooter, which soon led to a pursuit and an exchange of gunfire.
One officer was shot as police pursued the suspect on foot for about three blocks.
The gunman was killed at the scene, and the officer was listed in “critical but stable condition,” according to the watch commander.
He noted there were around 18 to 20 officers on duty in the area and that he requested additional units to respond, including outside resources from surrounding cities.
The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.
