A man was critically injured when he was hit in the head with a Dos Equis beer bottle in Washington Heights on Sunday morning, police said.

The Manhattan attack happened at West 190 Street and Saint Nicholas Avenue around 6:45 a.m. and left the victim unconscious, according to the NYPD.

It’s unclear what if anything sparked the assault and if the attacker knew his 43-year-old victim.

The wounded man was taken to Harlem Hospital. His unidentified attacker fled the scene and was still at large, officials said.

The 12-ounce green bottle used to hit the man was taken into evidence by officers on the scene, and a large pool of blood was visible on the sidewalk after the assault, according to photos.

This is a developing story.
