A 25-year-old man has been charged with assisting former soldier Daniel Khalife after the serviceman escaped from prison in September 2023.
Imran Chowdury, 25, of Chingford, east London, is accused of helping Khalife after he broke out of HMP Wandsworth by tying himself to the underside of a food delivery truck.
Chowdury was arrested in January 2024 and was charged in December via postal requisition with one count of assisting an escaped prisoner, the Metropolitan Police said.
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
A 25-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in February 2024 will face no further action.
