Major supermarket reveals shake-up to bonus scheme including huge discounts on 500 items | UK | News

A major UK supermarket has revealed a change to its loyalty programme, adding discounts to 500 products. Iceland and The Food Warehouse confirmed that its Bonus Card is being rebranded as the Bonus Club.

The chain is promising more savings and rewards for members of the fully digital loyalty system. Members can top up their accounts in-store or on the app, getting a £1 bonus for every £20 spent. Getting a £2 bonus every week would give shoppers £100 to spend in store after a year. Members can also get free delivery on orders over £40. Iceland will give those signing up during Bonus Club Week (August 26 to September 1) £5 free credit, too. And existing members will receive a £2 boost.

During this event, more than 500 items across stores and online will have their prices slashed, The Sun reports. This includes offers including eight family favourite items for £10, buy two get on free deals, half price freezer essentials, and better than half price laundry products. Richard Walker, Iceland’s executive chairman, said the changes were designed to help families in a time of tight household budgets.

He said: “We’ve always done the right thing by families, and this change is all about giving them even more savings when it matters most.

“We’re evolving our Bonus Card into the new Bonus Club, bringing more value, more benefits and even more reasons to shop with us. What better way to celebrate than by going big with our Mega Deals Event.”

Sign in to your account on the Iceland Bonus Club app to take part. Then link your Bonus Card (you only need to do this once). Go to ‘My Card’ and select ‘Top Up’.

You can then top up any amount with your preferred payment method. Then spend online with your savings or scan your app in-store and pay for your shopping with your Bonus Club balance.

On its website, Iceland said: “Enjoy exclusive discounts, exciting promotions, and extra savings! From free trails and partner perks to special member only offers, there’s always something new to enjoy. Don’t miss out – explore the rewards waiting for you today!”
