A lifestyle brand with more than 350 international stores will open a new UK branch by the end of the year. The new Søstrene Grene store in Gloucester Quays this Christmas forms part of the Danish lifestyle brand’s expansion across the UK, with 100 new stores planned by the end of 2027.
With one store already open in Cheltenham, it marks the brand’s second Gloucestershire shop, where it will sell a range of homewares, seasonal decor and gifts. Founded in 1973, it now operates in 17 countries, and group CEO and co-owner of Søstrene Grene, Mikkel Grene, highlighted the importance of the UK in the coming years.
He said: “The UK has quickly become one of our fastest growing markets and Gloucester Quays represents another step on that journey. It reflects our continued commitment to making thoughtful, well-designed products accessible to all.”
Norma Jacob and Richard Power, who manage Søstrene Grene stores in Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and the South of England, expressed their excitement about the new opening.
Ms Jacob said: “We’re thrilled to bring Søstrene Grene to Gloucester Quays just in time for the festive season. It’s a chance to connect with the local community and share a shopping experience that is creative, affordable, and full of inspiration for everyone.”
Mr Power added: “Opening a second store in Gloucestershire allows us to reach even more customers in the region.
“Gloucester Quays is a lively and well-loved destination and we’re looking forward to introducing customers to Søstrene Grene’s distinctive Scandinavian style.”
The official launch date will be announced soon.
