Meghan Markle has suffered a major blow after royal fans share their dislike of her brand’s new name, As Ever.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Meghan shared a video revealing that her new brand will be launching alongside her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
The Duchess of Sussex previously shared that she had been planning on launching a brand called American Riviera Orchard last year. Despite this, Meghan, 43, has now said that she decided on a change of name due to the limitations she believes that it would cause.
In a poll conducted by the Express from 11am February 19 to 9am February 20, readers were asked whether they are a fan of the name of Meghan’s upcoming brand.
Of the 1,261 votes received, a staggering 97 percent [1,220 votes] shared that they didn’t like the name ‘As Ever’.
Just two percent [26 votes] voted ‘yes’, they do like the brand’s name – whilst one percent [15 votes] admitted that they were unsure on their view of the name.
Taking to the comment section on the poll, one fan commented: “It’s a weird name. [It’s] like they did a word cloud and came up with the brand name from that.”
Another fan jokingly added the brand’s name into their comment, writing: “It’s dreadful, as ever.”
Clearly unbothered by Meghan’s new brand, another reader commented: “Whatever.”
In her Instagram video, Meghan said: “Which there’s been a lot of curiosity about. Last year, I thought you know what, American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name, it’s my neighbourhood [and] its a name for Santa Barbara.”
Explaining the name change, she continued: “But it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area.”
Annoucing that ‘As Ever’ is a name she “secured” in 2022, Meghan added: “This is the moment [for the announcement]. It’s called ‘As Ever’. ‘As Ever’ essentially means ‘as it’s always been’.”
