Currently, 3 of 4 lanes have been reopened, on the northbound carriageway, with a final clear up of the remaining lane currently taking place.
They said: “Lanes 1, 2 and 3 (of 4) are now open on the M6 northbound between J7 (GreatBarr) and J8 (M5).
“Final clear up works are ongoing, with lane 4 remaining closed to facilitate.
“There is approx. 5 miles of congestion on approach, causing 60 minute delays.”
