A huge crash has brought a section of the M4 near Bristol to a standstill this afternoon, with emergency services at the scene causing huge delays along the route.
An updated on the National Highways website reads: “The M4 in Gloucestershire is closed in both directions between J18 (Tormarton/A46) and J19 (Bristol/M32) following a serious collision.
“All emergency services including Avon & Somerset Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.”
The road is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time. It is unknown whether there have been any serious casualties as a result of the crash.
