Luke Humphries pleaded with himself to fix up after being left “frustrated” by his recent form at the oche. The world No.1 ended a three-match losing streak with a nervy victory over Boris Krcmar in his first match at the European Darts Trophy.
On performance, Humphries told PDC TV: “It’s [his darts] a lot of wire, it’s above the wire, I need to change that. It’s frustrating for myself, I come up here feeling really good but it’s just not happening.
Asked why he spent lots of time beforehand practising on the stage alone before the session got underway, Humphries added: “I’m a perfectionist. I feel like, I’m playing ok but not getting the results. Wanted to get up here and remind myself I can do it on the big stage.”
