'Lost for words!' Awkard moment man tries to teach female professional golfer how to swing

PGA professional Georgia Ball was left baffled by a nosy golfer whilst practicing at the driving range, after they offered some swing advice from a nearby bay.

Ball is a qualified PGA pro, and documents her journey in the golfing world on TikTok to her 156,000 followers. Her latest post caused quite the stir though, after a male player awkwardly tried to offer her some swing tips.

Uploading the driving range exchange to her followers on both TikTok and Instagram, Ball who was videoing the content, captioned the clip: “Can you believe he said this? So the guy next to me tried to me ‘swing advice’.”

What came next left golf fans on social media cringing, after professional Ball was told how she could improve her swing by the man nearby. The fellow golfer who is out of shot is heard saying: “Excuse me, what you are doing there, you should not being doing that.”

“You should be right through your swing and follow through. You are too slow on the way up and then back.” Clearly clued up on her own swing, Ball politely responded: “OK, I am going through a swing change at the minute,” Keen to make his point though the male interjected, adding: “I’ve been playing golf 20 years.”

Ball then lines up to hit another shot, and after firing a similar swing down the middle, her new-found ‘coach’ commented: “See how much better that was?” Seeing the funny side Ball once again reiterated how she was slowing down her swing in practice to make a few changes, referencing the ‘best players in the world’ who follow a similar process.

Clear to keep making his point the golfer then added: “Keep doing that anyway, OK?” Before Ball offered an awkward smile to her camera. The clip has since been viewed nearly 8 million times on Ball’s TikTok account, with around 20,000 comments left by shocked golfers.

One wrote: “I’ve been driving for 25 years but I’m not about to give Lewis Hamilton some pointers,” before another sarcastically added: “How long has he been playing golf for? Not sure he mentioned it.” Ball – who is a qualified coach herself – also joined in in the comments section.

“This was a bit awkward, not going to lie,” she added. “I couldn’t help but laugh. I was lost for words!” Ball’s TikTok page is full of helpful video advice for amateur golfers wanting to get better at the game, and she has amassed over 330,000 followers across both her Instagram and TikTok accounts thanks to her golf tip clips.
