'Look what you've done!' Angry Tories rage MPs have destroyed party in mind-blowing poll

Thousands of Tory activists have blamed their own MPs for the destruction of their party in a mindblowing survey which lifts the lid on the collapse in support for Rishi Sunak’s premiership.

Express.co.uk has been given exclusive access to a Conservative Post survey of people who were signed up Tory members in November 2022 when Mr Sunak became Prime Minister.

In an earlier piece, Express.co.uk laid out the findings which revealed 50.48 percent of members would vote for Reform UK with 15.95 percent already defecting to the party led by Richard Tice.

Meanwhile, 90.18 percent said they would not campaign for the Tories if Mr Sunak remains leader and 68.95 percent would support the party getting a new leader with Boris Johnson, Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, Suella Braverman and Dame Priti Patel the only options to get an overall positive rating.

But even more damning are the hundreds of comments left when party members were asked what they would like to tell their own Tory MP.

Many reflected the belief that Boris Johnson should still be leader (backed by 73.3 percent of respondents) and was betrayed by MPs.

One said: “Look at what you have done! You have reduced the once great Conservative Party to rubble in removing by innuendo, falsehoods and down right lies the elected leader of the party Boris Johnson so that your preferred puppet could be crowned PM.”

A second claimed: “You sulked when Boris was elected and won an 80-seat majority then you let [1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham] Brady and his bunch remove him.”

Another raged: “Stop your jealous in-fighting and backstabbing. Put your career progression on hold. Work with your fellow MPs even if you don’t like them! Run the country!”

MPs were also described as “backstabbing children!”

They were ordered by some to “get a grip!”

Others were clear about the only solution to save the party from a catastrophic election result: “Bring back Boris!”

There were genuine fears expressed that too many Tory MPs are not real Conservatives and are anti-Brexit.

One said: “Accept Brexit, it’s what people want not. Listen to the people!”

“Britain first!” added one in the light of international deals which appear to put the UK second such as the Windsor Framework in Northern Ireland.

“Be Conservative,” another activist demanded.

Another raged: “Restore the basic premise of true Conservatism protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens with the emphasis on discipline and defined punishment for those that violate the law, principles and cultural moral values of the UK.”

There was also anger over the disrespect members have received from MPs and the way they were bypassed when Sunak was imposed as leader.

“Stop working for your own agenda and work for the people of this country,” said one.

“Listen to the members,” demanded another.

“You betrayed all those people like myself who have been loyal to you for a lifetime,” blasted one activist.

The quality of MPs was also in question.

“80-seat majority and you blew it. Shame on you.”

“Stop acting like spoilt brats.”

“You voted for your own demised when you got rid of Boris.”

“Cowards!”

“Get a backbone.”

“Wake up you are losing voters.”

Claire Bullivant, editor of Conservative Post and a Tory activist, has told Express.co.uk that she carried out the survey when she realised members were no longer turning up to help campaign and wanted to find out why.

The Conservative Post will be publishing more of the comments.
