Tyler Marquart hopped into a major role for the Carle Place Frogs his senior year.

The 17-year-old made the leap from an 11th-grade blocking fullback to a core part of the offense, now a speedy halfback with hands as sticky as an amphibian’s tongue.

“Against Lawrence, I put up around 200 receiving yards — against Valley Stream North I put up around 100 receiving yards, 70 rushing yards,” he told The Post.

“I’m going to do whatever I can to get that first down for our team — just a player trying to do it for the guys, helping everybody else out,” Marquart added.

Marquart entered his final season of high school football expecting to do what he did last year, but he quickly learned the coaching staff had bigger shoes for him, and he filled them.

A successful first few weeks of the season is enough for Marquart — a catcher looking to play collegiate baseball — to start mulling over another gridiron opportunity next season.

“If a football program finds interest in me, I would tell them to reach out,” he said. “Obviously this has been a big surprise, but it may end up being an option for me.”

Right now, though, Marquart’s focus is on turning his 1-3 team around as the season gets into the nitty-gritty — starting with a win over Locust Valley on Saturday.

“I think we’ll bounce back,” he said. “The boys have really had grit and determination.”

Every Duck has their day.

Suffolk County honored the hometown Atlantic League champions this week with County Executive Ed Romaine declaring Oct. 6 Long Island Ducks Day after a historic season in Central Islip.

The Ducks set a franchise record with an 80-win regular season and swept the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in the team’s final three-game series to clinch a playoff spot.

From there, the Ducks then swept the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars in the divisional round, then the Blue Crabs again in the championship for the franchise’s fifth all-time title.

QuackerJack was also named 2026 Atlantic League Mascot of the Year.
