LIVE: Major manhunt for missing teen at Rudyard Lake as two rushed to hospital

A manhunt has been scrambled amid claims a third teenager is still missing after three youngsters fell into a rural lake. Police, paramedics, firefighters and a helicopter have been at the beauty spot Rudyard Lake, in Staffordshire, since around 9.30pm on Saturday.

Staffordshire Police have said the incident has involved three young men, all thought to be around 17-years-old, who had been spotted in the water. Two managed to get out, the force said, and were checked over by paramedics at the scene.

They were then transported to hospital. But a third teenager is still accounted for with the helicopter deployed late last night.

Officers are urging the public to stay away from the area as efforts to find the young man continue, StokeonTrentLive said.  A spokesman for the force said: “A large number of emergency services are currently at Rudyard Lake following reports that three people fell in.

“Specialist search teams are currently in the area alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. Our colleagues from the National Police Air Service also helped with the searches yesterday.”
