For those who find mowing the lawn a tedious task, especially during the spring season when the grass grows quickly, Lidl has reintroduced a popular gadget to solve this problem. The Parkside Robot Lawnmower made its return to the middle aisles of the budget chain yesterday (April 7) and will be available in-stores until Sunday.
The robot lawnmower has gained popularity over recent years, with users showcasing their gadgets on TikTok. A user known as @greenfingeredcityboy posted a video demonstrating the use of the lawnmower.
After setting up a boundary wire around his lawn, he activates the machine, which is then shown racing around the grass.
He says: “It covers 500 metres squared, which means I can get on with other jobs”, before showing himself performing other garden tasks while the mower flawlessly cuts the lawn.
Another video was captioned “Never mow again” and showed a robot lawnmower swiftly moving around the garden.
While robot mowers are becoming increasingly popular, they can be a pricey gadget. However, Lidl’s model is available for just £199 if you use the Lidl Plus app. Without the app, the price is £249.
Customers can also use the new Lidl Click Reserve Collect service in the app, allowing them to reserve the product before heading to the store to avoid disappointment.
Lidl’s website says: “Why Choose The Parkside Robot Lawnmower? Cutting your lawn has never been easier! The Parkside Robot Lawnmower is suitable for lawns up to 500m2 and has a powerful 20V Li-Ion battery (2Ah) and a brushless motor, offering extra long life due to less wear and tear.
“Mowing time is approximately 45 minutes and charging time is 60 minutes. It has 3 adjustable area modes and up to 5 defined secondary zones for spot mowing.”
And to protect your new gadget, Lidl offers a Lawnmower Garage at a bargain price. With the Lidl Plus app, it’s just £24.99, or for non-app users, £29.99.
Lidl explained: “The Lawnmower Garage is a great addition to the robot lawnmower too. It offers the lawnmower protection from the rain, snow and direct sunlight and has a sloping roof for easy drainage of rainwater. The hinged roof provides easy access to the robot lawnmower control panel and charging station.”
