The Liberty had lost eight of 10 games from June 19 through July 18. It was the worst such stretch during New York’s Big 3 era, featuring Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones and Sabrina Ionescu.
After a frustrating July 18 loss in Indiana that extended a losing skid to four games, Stewart and Jones met and talked about the importance of them setting the tone and doing their part to accrue more possessions.
“Double-double, no question,” Stewart recalled.
