Liam Gallagher has sent a new message to his fans after revealing details of the first gig of the Oasis reunion tour. The frontman, 52, shared what time ticket-holders can expect the Cardiff concert on Friday, 4 July, to start. He also urged fans to be on time, which he put in a message to his followers on X. He penned, “OASIS on stage 8.15pm Cardiff don’t be late or we’ll start without you and you don’t want that now do ya see ya there LG x.” The iconic band will take to the stage together for the first time in over 15 years next week for their highly anticipated Oasis Live ’25 tour. The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, had been locked in a bitter feud since Noel sensationally departed the band in 2009 after a gig in Paris.
Then, nearly 15 years after Oasis split, it was announced last year that they would be performing together once more. It has now been reported that their mother, Peggy, played a vital role in orchestrating the reunion. In a recent interview, she shared that she encouraged the brothers to put their differences aside.
She revealed to Ireland’s Mail on Sunday newspaper: “I was the instigator, yes. But sure, wasn’t it always going to happen at some time or other? It was their choice, of course.”
The 82-year-old continued, “Look, you can’t force them to do things they don’t want to do. You just have to say, ‘Get on with it,’ and I said that.”
She then added, “I’ll be glad when it’s all just over because it makes me get too stressed.” Peggy is hoping to watch her sons at the Dublin concert in August, but she has just had a knee replacement operation.
Peggy said, “I’m hoping to get to the Oasis concert in Dublin in August if I can hobble around. That’s my plan anyway… it will be great.”
The upcoming tour, which will kick off on July 4 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, is expected to significantly boost the economy. Fans are anticipated to spend an average of £682.80 each on several expenses, including tickets, travel, food and drink, merchandise, and accommodation, contributing to an estimated total expenditure of £940.3 million throughout the tour.
This sum is nearly on par with the £997 million fans spent on Taylor Swift’s 2024 UK Eras Tour. However, the net economic impact of Oasis’s tour – estimated at £274.4 million across the four host cities – is anticipated to significantly surpass the £122 million reported for Swift’s 15 UK shows, due to a higher proportion of spending remaining within local economies.
