Sure doesn’t look like there’s any way the last of LeBron James’ offspring will be a basketball player.
After Zhuri James showed off some skills on the hardwood during a road trip to Northern California with her dad over the weekend, LeBron’s wife made it clear the 11-year-old will not be following in her father and brothers’ footsteps anytime soon.
In an Instagram story on Sunday, Savannah James shared a video from one of Zhuri’s recent volleyball games, and noted that’s where her sports future lies.
“Yeah, it’s a no,” she said while adding a silly emoji. “We’ll be over here.”
Zhuri went with LeBron to San Francisco on Saturday to watch the Lakers superstar play against the Warriors, but just prior to tip, she had many wondering if she’d be the latest James to star on a court.
She flashed impressive handles, made a sweet trick shot, and threw an alley-oop to her 41-year-old father as well.
LeBron, though, told reporters after the spectacle that Zhuri will not be like he or his two sons, 21-year-old Bronny and 18-year-old Bryce, who both have made basketball their lives.
“She’s a volleyball player,” LeBron said. “Don’t get my wife mad. My wife is done with this basketball s–t. She’s done with it.
“She’s a volleyball player, but she’s been around the game for a while. She got good handles, and she got a good form, too. But my wife ain’t playin that. Not another one. She said, ‘That’s it.’”
