In pictures taken of Their Majesties arriving, Queen Camilla and King Charles waved to gathering crowds as they were pictured sitting in the back of a royal car.
Before this appearance, Camilla hadn’t been seen for a number of days, having stepped out a week prior to this to attend another service at Crathie Kirk on September 7.
This service saw the Queen dressed in an army green beret, a jacket lined with tartan, and a matching skirt.
On this occasion, Her Majesty was joined again by her husband, but also by some other famous faces, including Prime Minister Keir Starmer and British actress Dame Joanna Lumley.
On September 6, she was spotted in public again after the long summer holidays at Balmoral as she attended the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park. It was here where Her Majesty and the King held a one-minute silence for the Duchess of Kent before the annual games began.
Buckingham Palace said on September 16 that the Queen has decided not to attend the funeral of The Duchess of Kent today “with great regret” and will have her “thoughts and prayers” with the Duke of Kent.
The Palace also said that The Duke of Kent has been informed that the Queen won’t attend and fully understands her decision, whilst also sending his best wishes to her.
The funeral at Westminster Cathedral is set to begin at 2pm today, with the King still set to be in attendance, along with a number of other royals.
