Just as the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson nightmare ended, another one began.

Jackson, who missed the last three games with a high-ankle sprain before returning Sunday, exited after Baltimore’s first offensive snap against the Bills with a right thumb injury and was ruled out for the rest of the game.

After dropping back and attempting a throw, Bills outside linebacker Greg Rousseau made contact with Jackson’s right hand and he rushed toward the quarterback, and Jackson immediately walked toward the sideline.

He then went to the locker room with a towel over his right hand.

Jackson recorded seven total touchdowns across the Ravens’ opening four games before his ankle injury, and he admitted last week to reporters that he wasn’t pain-free in his ankle — but still planned to try playing.

“I feel like I’m no longer a statue,” Jackson said. “I’m able to move around a little better. I’m going to give it a shot.”

Tyler Huntley, who started in Jackson’s place during his last injury, took over after the first snap, and the Ravens — who trailed the Bills 10-0 late in the first quarter — punted on their first two possessions Sunday.
