Royal fans have been sent into a frenzy this week after photographs showed King Charles’s “hot” equerry playing a role in the US state visit at Windsor Castle. On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump arrived at Windsor for a brief state visit hosted by King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 78.
As is the case with all state visits, Mr Trump and the US First Lady were welcomed with plenty of pomp and ceremony, which included a ceremonial welcome. It was during this welcome when the King’s equerry, who moved to a less public-facing role as a result of lots of media attention for his looks, was spotted.
Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Thompson, of the 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland, looked pleased to be part of the state visit as he watched the King engage with the US President.
Royal fans were also pleased the equerry was part of the state visit, with many taking to social media to show their excitement.
One fan wrote: “I spy someone tall and handsome named Johnny.”
Someone else said: “I spotted Johnny during the live ceremony. He makes all royal events even more spectacular!”
Another person wrote: “Hi Johnny! We missed you.”
