Despite witnessing Trooping the Colour for many years, King Charles is “still elated” and “still mesmerised” by the annual occasion, a body language expert has decoded from the events of today.
Thousands descended on central London for Trooping the Colour, an annual event to celebrate the King’s birthday, and this year, the King asked members of the Royal Family taking part in the parade to wear black armbands as a mark of respect for the Air India tragedy.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, body language expert, Darren Stanton said: “Charles has got a fantastic expression on his face – still elated, still mesmerised despite seeing these things many times. He seems really excited to see the flyby.”
He added: “It looks like the whole of the Royal Family were in great spirits and in a good frame of mind, showing genuine smiles throughout. The King especially showed great stamina and really enjoyed the whole procedure.”
Earlier today, King Charles III reviewed his troops during the Horse Guards Parade, alongside Queen Camilla and the Princess of Wales, before the Royal Family made their appearance on the royal balcony of Buckingham Palace.
The body language expert described how the Firm showed signs of being incredibly close to one another.
He explained: “What is clear, which doesn’t always come across, is that they’re all incredibly close to each other. William often shows signs of endearment towards his dad – despite him being the King, he’s still his father. I think they are much closer than is often known or public perception.”
Speaking of Prince William, Darren added: “You do glimpse moments of that when they look at each other – you get the impression that they share a very deep love for each other and their strength of their bond is visible in their interactions with one another.”
More than 1,300 soldiers took part in the ceremony at Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall. The event has marked the official birthday of the UK monarch on the second Saturday of June for more than 260 years.
The colour, or regimental flag, trooped this year was the King’s Colour of Number 7 Company, Coldstream Guards, a prestigious regiment known as the sovereign’s bodyguard. It celebrates its 375th anniversary this year.
Led by the Red Arrows, this year for the first time, the flypast used more sustainable aviation fuels for its tricolour smoke trails in red, white and blue.
