King Charles left Windsor Castle ahead of memorial service as Queen Camilla leads royals

King Charles was at Windsor Castle before this morning’s memorial service for his close friend and second cousin King Constantine of Greece, it has been reported.

Charles, whose cancer treatment continues, was said to be at the premises but left before the memorial service, with the reception afterwards to be hosted by Camilla, according to the Mail.

Prince William also missed the service due to a “personal matter”, Kensington Palace announced.

The Prince of Wales, who was due to give a reading, called the Greek royal family to apologise and say he would be unable to attend.

Constantine’s eldest son Crown Prince Pavlos gave the reading in William’s place.

The Palace also confirmed the Princess of Wales was ‘doing well’ following her abdominal surgery.

Queen Camilla led members of the Royal Family at the service, which took place in the nave of the 15th-century chapel.

Prince Andrew attended the service joined by his former wife, Sarah Ferguson and their daughters Princess Eugenie and Beatrice.

The Duke of York was reportedly invited by the Greek royals.

Princess Anne was also spotted alongside her husband Sir Timothy Laurence and was joined by her daughter Zara and her husband Mike Tindall.
