King Charles has given a rare update on his health during a royal engagement this week. The monarch, 76, visited Newmarket, Suffolk, with Queen Camilla on Tuesday, where he visited the Jockey Club Rooms.
While meeting members of the public, the King – who is still undergoing cancer treatment following his diagnosis last year – gave a surprising answer when asked about his health by Lee Harman, 54. Harman, who had gathered alongside hundreds of others to see the monarch, reportedly asked the King how he was.
Charles was said to have replied with a surprising five-word verdict, saying it was “just one of those things”.
Harman said: “I asked him (the King) how he was, and he said he was feeling a lot better now and that it was ‘just one of those things’.”
Harman, who had cancer himself and got the all clear last year, was then asked by the King how he was.
Recalling the conversation, Harman said: “He asked me how I was and I said ‘I’m all good’, I got the all clear from cancer last year.”
The King, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, has been sharing rare updates on his health over the past year and a half.
In May, the 76-year-old royal visited Impact Hub Yorkshire, where he also gave a candid admission about his health.
Speaking to a local business owner, he was heard to have said: “I’d like to think I’m on the better side [of my cancer journey]”.
Despite undergoing treatment, Charles has continued on with royal duty, which is believed to bring him joy.
