It has been reported that this is due to the number of engagements that William has undertaken – compared to the higher number for the King.
William, 43, is understood to prefer and prioritise high “impact” engagements, like his project Homewards, which aims to end homelessness, over volume.
He is also known to, much like Princess Kate, prioritise his role as a parent over his duties. The couple are proud parents to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis.
Discussing this, Ms Brown added: “Somehow, William’s parenting dedication always seems couched as a tacit criticism of the King’s own paternal deficiencies”
Speaking of recent engagements, she added: “And after five confirmed family vacations in the past seven months, William’s first-week-back diary pulsated with two outings: a father-daughter excursion to a Women’s Rugby World Cup pool match and a stroll through the Natural History Museum’s new gardens. Charles, despite his battle with cancer, has carried out official engagements on 175 days during the past 12 months”.
Kate and William are said to have previously stated their wish to prioritise George, Charlotte and Louis above duty – with the couple wishing to carry out typical parenting tasks like the school run.
Harry travelled to the UK on his own this week. Meghan Markle, 44, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, remained in the US during his trip to his home country.
