King Charles and Queen Camilla joined by surprise guest in latest teaser for BBC film

Queen Camilla’s rescue dog Beth makes an adorable guest appearance in the latest clip that’s been released by the BBC ahead of the launch of its new documentary tonight.

It will show never-before-seen footage of Charles and Queen Camilla in the first year of the monarch’s reign.

In the new clip, King Charles and Queen Camilla can be seen walking around the Balmoral Estate together.

At one point the cute Jack Russell can be seen sprinting around while barking and eating grass.

The Queen says: “Where’s your ball Beth?” as she points at the pooch before the King sees her eating grass and asks: “What are you doing?”

Camilla then laughs and adds: “She loves eating grass.”

The Queen adopted two Jack Russell terriers, Beth and Bluebell, in 2011 and 2012 respectively from Battersea Dogs’ and Cats’ Home. She later became their Royal Patron in 2017.

Beth won over the Queen’s heart following her visit to the centre to mark its 150th anniversary back in 2010.

She has lived with the royal couple since 2011. Bluebell on the other hand was adopted during Camilla’s second visit to Battersea. She was found in a London park with a painful skin condition.

Camilla told the BBC at the time: “They found Bluebell two or three weeks later wandering about in woods, no hair on her, covered in sores, virtually dead.

“And they nursed her back to life and her hair grew again. She’s very sweet, but a tiny bit neurotic, shall we say.”

BBC’s 90-minute documentary Charles III: The Coronation Year will be screened tonight at 6.50pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
