Kemi Badenoch disheartened Tory Party activists today after the party sent out documents encouraging members to celebrate woke events like ‘national coming out day’. Despite presenting herself as an anti-woke warrior, campaigners for the party began receiving their official 2026 ‘campaign planners’ today and reacted in horror.
Among the calendar events highlighted for MPs, councillors and activists to talk about next year included ‘LGBT+ History Month’ in February, ‘International Transgender Day of Visibility’ in March, ‘Bi Visibility Day’ in September, and ‘National coming out day’ on 11 October. Reacting to the unwelcome post, a furious Tory activist fumed: “I didn’t realise ‘renewal’ of the Conservative Party (Kemi’s slogan) meant regurgitating woke leftist nonsense. Stuff like this just shows the party hasn’t changed. It’s over!”
Meanwhile a Reform UK source revelled in the bizarre left-wing moment from the Tories, hitting out: “The Tories claim to have changed but the proof is in the pudding – the reality is there for us all to see – they’re just as bad as Labour.
“The Tories can never be trusted ever again – they have lied one too many times to ever be believable. This is the real Conservative Party.”
The Tories insisted that the mail-out was an accident based on an “old template from the previous Conservative leadership.”
They added: “It should not have been used, and has been immediately withdrawn from circulation.”
Ms Badenoch has previously spoken out about how western liberalism has been “hacked” by wokeness that seeks to undermine and break down traditional values.
She said she loves being called a “culture warrior”, joking: “It is meant to be pejorative, but I love the title. My grandfather told me that I was descended from warriors, and so I think I’m keeping up the tradition.”
