So, Keir Starmer, our ineffectual, hollow husk of a Prime Minister, has caved into the Welfare Bill rebels – which we always knew he would – with the consequence that he’s now finished. Because those 120 rebels, who’d threatened a vote of no confidence if he didn’t capitulate, will now have him by the short and curlies for the rest of his premiership which means he’ll have to do anything and everything they want.
So, just watch him wave through the Employers’ Rights Bill, which will hand ultimate power to the unions. Watch him start bad-mouthing Israel again to satisfy the pro-Palestinian hard left. Watch him dance like the little puppet he is to the people he just sold his soul to because he’s now beholden to them for his job.
How the hell did such a weak, self-serving coward ever get to run this country? Starmer knows the £313billion welfare bill HAS to be cut, as one in ten people of working age are now claiming a sickness or disability benefit.
And come the end of the decade, we’ll be spending as much on disability benefits as we do on transport, policing and social care put together. And let’s stop pretending everyone claiming sickness and disability benefits is incapable of working because it simply isn’t true.
Yet instead of tackling THAT, the gutless Starmer chose instead to cling onto his job. And here’s an unbelievable stat to demonstrate why those rebels are so desperate to quash benefit cuts – Labour holds about 200 seats where the number of PIP claimants is bigger than its MP’s majority.
But what all this means is that the paltry £5billion in cuts Starmer was going to make – which would still have meant the welfare bill was £8billion more than last year – will now be reduced to a piddling £3.5billion. So, beggar-all saved!
And who the hell do these idiot rebels think is going to pay for this welfare largesse? In the past 18 months, nearly 30,000 millionaires and money creators have left Britain. And Labour’s punitive taxes mean that seven million ordinary, working people will now be paying 40% tax – a tax that used to be reserved only for the well-off.
So where does this Labour Government get off bragging that it exists to help working people when it’s fleecing them senseless?
It’s Starmer’s weakness and his total inability to lead that has allowed all this to happen. And the fact he’s now backed down on welfare cuts means he’s finished – with rumours he could be out before the local May elections. And he deserves to be kicked out because he’s useless.
Because what he’s just done – the latest in a long line of backdowns and U-turns – isn’t just financially catastrophic for Britain, it’s a screaming acknowledgement that no, Labour’s philosophy is: “Take care of the shirkers and punish the workers.”
Cutting the benefits bill would have been a win-win for Starmer because people are sick of seeing the lazy, the work-shy and the pretenders fawned over and mollycoddled with benefits many aren’t entitled to but the rest of us have no choice but to pay for.
Last week Downing Street insisted there were only a handful of rebels and everything was under control. This week those rebels have denigrated, humiliated and all but scuppered the premiership of a man who wasn’t even in the country to see the beginning of his own end.
Which fits as Starmer has spent most of his disastrous premiership abroad grandstanding and trying to look like the statesman he will never be. He’s only voted in the Commons SEVEN times in his first year compared to Boris’ 57.
Which is why it’s no longer a matter of “Will he be kicked out?” It’s “When?”. And then we get Rayner! Britain is done for!
